Skatepark builder and designer Joe Ciaglia and the crew at California Skateparks and has released the much-anticipated plans for the street course to be built into Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, NY, for this summer’s 2010 Maloof Money Cup.

The design of the course was led by California Skateparks’ owner Joe Ciaglia along with pro skaters Chris Cole and Geoff Rowley and top New York skateboarder and 5boro Skateboards owner Steve Rodriguez.

The 16,000 sq. ft. Volcom street course will remain in the historic Flushing Meadows Corona Park, the site of the largest World’s Fair in 1939.  The skatepark will mark the first permanent Maloof Money Cup structure as it will be donated to the city of New York as part of the NYC “Adopt-A-Park” Program.

The skate park will include replicas of some of New York’s most famous skate spots, including the Brooklyn Banks nine-stair rail, the Union Square rail, Police Plaza seven-stair rail, Ziegfeld ledge, Chrystie Park ledge, Exchange Place street gap, JFK Banks, Con Ed Banks, Pyramid ledges and Flushing Meadows Park ledge-over-the-grate.

The NYC Maloof Money Cup, sponsored by Vans will be held June 5-6, 2010.
