Vans Combi Pool Reconstruction Begins

California Skateparks is starting the reconstruction of the Vans combi pool in Orange, CA starting today. The old plaster will be taken out and shotcrete will be put in as well as new coping from Golden State Coping.

You can check out a couple video clips that Christian Hosoi posted on Twitter taking his last run on the old surface and another of him starting the demolition.

The combi pool is scheduled to reopen April 1.

Thrasher, Girl and Chocolate Visit Hollenbeck Skate Plaza

Thrasher Magazine’s latest Skatepark-Roundup segment features the Girl and Chocolate teams at the Hollenbeck skate plaza in Boyle Heights, CA.

The Hollenbeck skate plaza is the latest “Safe Spot Skate Spot” built and designed by California Skateparks with the help of Rob Dyrdek and the City of Los Angeles.

2010 Transworld Skate and Create

California Skateparks and California Ramp Works are the builders for the 2010 Skate and Create, hosted by Transworld Skateboarding.

This week, Transworld is stopping by the California Ramp Works Mesa, AZ fabrication shop to document the craftsmanship behind the 2010 Skate and Create.

While California Ramp Works is busy working with wood, California Skateparks is handling concrete. We will keep you posted along the way, so make sure to check back soon.

Todd Beamer Skate Park Opens Friday, Feb. 26th

Northeast Fresno, CA will open up its latest skate park, built by California Skateparks, this Friday, February 26th. Named after heroic United Airlines Flight 93 passenger Todd Beamer, the park also includes a soccer field, shaded play area and splash-park.

The park is located at Maple and Plymouth in Northeast Fresno and will open publicly at noon this Friday.

Arto Saari’s New Pool

NYC and South Africa Maloof Money Cup

Today, Joe and Gavin Maloof announced details for the 2010 NYC Maloof Money Cup. The street skateboarding competition will be held June 5-6 at Flushing Meadows Park in Queens. The prize purse will be over $250,000 with the winner will earning $100,000.

California Skateparks in conjunction with the city of New York Parks and Recreation Department’s “Adopt-A-Park” program will create a permanent world-class skate park that will be used for the competition.

The Maloofs also announced a South Africa Maloof Money Cup for 2011.

Stoner Skate Park Progress
