With the purpose of restoring public spaces in Mexico City, the first skate park was inaugurated in the Historic Center, Barrio San Antonio Skatepark that was created in conjunction with the government of Mexico City (CDMX), INJUVE, California Skateparks and Nike Sb.

The Barrio San Antonio Skatepark, designed and built by California Skateparks, had it’s Grand Opening yesterday on June 21st, Go Skateboarding Day. Hundreds of locals were in attendance to watch the inauguration along with the skate demo by professional skateboarders from Nike SB, Leticia Bufoni and Gabriel Fortunato who helped with the ribbon cutting.

The park also includes art from Jose Luis Ponce, urban artist who created the mural “Barrio San Antonio Abad” as a representation of the influence of skateboarding in culture.

Barrio San Antonio Skatepark will have sessions by Honor Roll Skate Club, free skateboard classes that will be taught on Saturdays and Sundays from 09:00am to 11:00am for boys and girls from 2 to 14 years.
