Our Work
Since opening in Downtown Jacksonville, Florida in 2024, the massive Artist Walk Skatepark/JAX Skate Plaza at Riverside Park has been lit 24 hours per day and protected from sun and rain by the Fuller Warren Bridge. This groundbreaking skate plaza is free to the public, available rain or shine/day and night, and has become a must-ride attraction for skaters from around the world.
VANS founder Steve Van Doren approached California Skateparks CEO Joe Ciaglia to develop the master plan and ultimately act as general contractor and landscape architect for the entire site, which spans a full city block in Huntington Beach. The project boasts a 40,000 square foot VANS “OFF THE WALL” skate park complete with lights, snack bar, bathrooms, lockers, and parking lot, in addition to a brand new Jacks Garage store on the premises. It is nothing short of a skateboard utopia that promises to be the premier skate park destination for years to come. The skate park itself offers some of every imaginable type of terrain, but is generally defined by an upper transition / flow / bowl area and a lower street/ plaza / park area, which are tied together by the well-known and iconic Vans checkerboard paving pattern found throughout the entire park. The upper transition portion of the park measures around 17,500 square feet, consisting of hybrid backyard bowl / flow bowl combination as well as a full sized competition clover bowl adorned with Golden State Pool Coping and custom tile, both of which were designed and influenced by legendary VANS rider Christian Hosoi as well as VANS team and staff members in collaboration with Joe Ciaglia of California Skateparks. The massive 25,000 square foot area dedicated to the street plaza area is comprised of an over abundance of real-life street elements including stairs, rails, gaps, planter ledges, kickers, rollers, a double-kinked handrail that’s over 40 feet long, and volcano feature with a palm tree in the center to complete the iconic southern California vibe . The VANS “OFF THE WALL” skate park also presents a unique opportunity for the community in that it will also be capable of hosting Pro Events.
California Skateparks was brought under contract to build this hybrid flow/street skate park at a high visibility site along the Hudson River in the Chelsea District of Manhattan, New York. California Skateparks utilized a custom structural foam/concrete foundation system to build a durable cast-in-place concrete and shotcrete skate park directly on top of Pier 62, as a key feature of the Hudson River Park system.
P-Rods Skatepark has a little bit of everything including: a double set with ledges and rails, custom nike ledge, custom target euro gap, mini ramp with wallride, corner pocket quaterpipe with custom coping extension, long ledge, manual pad, out rail, extended six stair with rail, high bank with wall extension, custom hip.
California Skatepark was responsible for the construction of this skate park. The unique designs incorporate 8,750 sq ft of diverse combination of terrain including stairs, ledges and rails that resemble an actual street plaza. Stone veneer and granite pavers were used in the fine details of the design and offer the park a true “street feel”. Tribeca Skatepark is one of three New York City skateparks built by California Skateparks. Other parks include Maloof Cup Plaza in Queens and the Hudson River Park Pier 62 skatepark in Chelsea. The Tribeca skatepark design is different than the one located at Pier 62 and provides a different riding terrain thus offering a diverse skating experience for the skaters of New York City.
Our skatepark design for the NIXS Sports Academy in Toyama, Japan left nothing behind . The design includes a sprawling and all-encompassing plaza, a mini-ramp section, a flow course, and a stand alone bowl. From beginners to advanced skateboarders this park is perfect for anyone at any age.
The Tinnell Memorial Sports Park is Arizona’s largest skate park at 40,000 square feet. The sports park is dedicated to the sacrifice made by fallen soldier and bmx rider Patrick Tinnell, along with Colin Sasseen who lost his life skating in his front yard. In honor of Patrick we built a custom cradle in the shape of his army helmet and for Colin we did a large stained concrete “C” at the bottom of the stair set. The street course design is inspired by Street League Skateboarding’s “skate plaza-style” course skated by professional skateboarders at the 2013 X Games at Foz Do Iguacu, Brazil. The upper deck of the park has a backyard bowl, a competition flow course and wall ride around a palm tree. The course also features a skate-able pathway with a kicker gap. Shade structures were also incorporated for spectators and skaters to catch a break from the Arizona sun. This skate oasis has something for every level of skater, not to mention one of the most beautiful views of any skate park in the world!

The Nike Templo Mayor Skate Park is the first ever certified Street League Plaza outside of the united states, and is one of the most unique plazas that we have ever done. The vibrant color pattern and custom hubba ledge designs were the result of a collaboration with a local Mexican artist and really help to set the park apart from any before it. In addition to the main Street League Plaza, there is also an upper area that includes a sculptural skate feature along with several bank hips and a curved ledge
This skate park was designed with heavy input from the local San Pedro crew, Robbie and Andy Harris along with professional skateboarder Lance Mountain. The most challenging aspect of the project was the significant change in grade, but the design of the skate park was able to take advantage of this by incorporating a long snake run. This skate park consists of transition elements, a flow course, and a backyard pool.
Full plexiglass mini ramp we built showcasing classic @nikesb’s for the @diamondsupplyco booth at @complexcon last year.
California Skateparks was the (specialty) contractor on this project. This is the fifth skate park built in the community of Oceanside, CA. The skate park includes transitional and street elements. The skate bowls, snake run and street area compile this 22,700 skate park.
