Joe Ciaglia recently captured video of Lance Mountain and Jeff Grosso checking out the California Skateparks crew completing the final stages of the Vans combi pool reconstruction. And yes, Lance was part of the construction crew!
We have also included some photos in the gallery below. The Vans combi pool is expected to reopen April 1st.
Skatepark builder and designer Joe Ciaglia and the crew at California Skateparks and has released the much-anticipated plans for the street course to be built into Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, NY, for this summer’s 2010 Maloof Money Cup.
The design of the course was led by California Skateparks’ owner Joe Ciaglia along with pro skaters Chris Cole and Geoff Rowley and top New York skateboarder and 5boro Skateboards owner Steve Rodriguez.
The 16,000 sq. ft. Volcom street course will remain in the historic Flushing Meadows Corona Park, the site of the largest World’s Fair in 1939. The skatepark will mark the first permanent Maloof Money Cup structure as it will be donated to the city of New York as part of the NYC “Adopt-A-Park” Program.
The skate park will include replicas of some of New York’s most famous skate spots, including the Brooklyn Banks nine-stair rail, the Union Square rail, Police Plaza seven-stair rail, Ziegfeld ledge, Chrystie Park ledge, Exchange Place street gap, JFK Banks, Con Ed Banks, Pyramid ledges and Flushing Meadows Park ledge-over-the-grate.
The NYC Maloof Money Cup, sponsored by Vans will be held June 5-6, 2010.

California Skateparks recently started construction of the new Target skate plaza at Woodward West in Tehachepi, CA. Stay tuned for more detail and photos.
We went out to the Vans Skatepark in Orange, CA to see the California Skateparks crew in action working on the reconstruction of the combi pool. All plaster is currently being taken out and new coping from Golden State Coping will be installed. The Vans combi pool is scheduled to reopen April 1st. Stay tuned for more updates.
California Skateparks and California Ramp Works are the official designers and builders for the 2010 Skate and Create, hosted by Transworld Skateboarding.
This week, Transworld is stopping by the California Ramp Works Mesa, AZ fabrication shop and California Skateparks in Upland, CA to document the craftsmanship behind the 2010 Skate and Create.
While California Ramp Works is busy working with wood, California Skateparks is designing and building the concrete and granite elements. We will keep you posted along the way, so make sure to check back soon.

The Stoner Skate Plaza in Los Angeles, CA is one of the latest projects from California Skateparks and Site Design Group. The skate plaza is schedule to open this summer in the Stoner Recreation Center. Stay tuned for more updates on this build.
