COMING SOON: $1.2 million skatepark | Kennesaw, Georgia

California Skateparks has just been awarded the job of building the monumental skatepark in Kennesaw, Georgia. This skatepark has an anticipated start date for the summer 2012. The 40,000 square foot skatepark will be built at Swift-Cantrell Park and is racking in a budget of nearly $1.2 million! The mayor of Kennesaw, Mark Matthews has said, ” It will draw from across the region…there is nothing like this anywhere in the Southeast.”

Site Design Group has been awarded the job of designing this huge skatepark and they have already presented designs exceeding the expectations of the community. The Rob Dyrdek Foundation is the major contribution bringing this opportunity to life for the city of Kennesaw. They have assumed the role of raising the money for the gap in funds and the Foundation’s enthusiasm to make this skatepark the best in the world has captured the attention of the whole community. Dyrdek is hoping this park might be an option for Street League Skateboardings first ever permenant skate plaza facility. The park will be built with the option to one day host events seen on ESPN. Mayor Matthews said, “…this is to be the Pebble Beach of skateboarding.”

Far Rockaway Skatepark in Rockaway, New York is officially open!
This skatepark is approximately 15,700 square feet. California Skateparks is excited to bring their 8th skatepark to state of New York. Site Design Group is the designer and CA Skateparks are the skatepark builders. Site Design Group says, “The design strikes a balance between both street and transition styles.” It features a plaza section complete with a variety of grind ledges, a set of stairs with handrail and hubba ledges, and a solid hipped bank. In addition to the plaza section, the park also features an entire transition area that includes various bowled corners, rolled edges, and a volcano. This all-inclusive park is sure to have something for everyone!

ETNIES SKATEPARK IN LAKE FOREST IS COMPLETE
Skateboarders started embracing the new additions to Etnies Skatepark in Lake Forest, California ever since our crews took the fences down. Although the official skate park opening is not scheduled until August 20th, the completion news is spreading fast. This new 60,000 square foot skate park is the biggest public skate park in all of California and will now be a landmark for all visiting skateboarders. Rockaway Park, NY Skatepark Plaza Set to Open Fall 2011

Rockaway Skatepark in New York is set to open this Fall, 2011 ! California Skateparks was a specialty skatepark contractor, and Site Design Group was the skatepark designer for this 15,700 square foot project. New York skatepark is plaza styled with smooth transitions. California Skateparks is excited to bring their 8th skatepark to New York.

Etnies skatepark in Lake Forest has begun construction on the expansion of an additional 16,000 square feet. This million dollar expansion will add a street run with six stairs, manny pad, A-frame bump, mini bowl, and added alterations to the existing park. With the skatepark changes, the park will be the biggest free skatepark in the US and one of the largest parks in the world! It will total around 60,000 square feet in size. The expansion concept was designed by Nick Gates, city of Lake Forest staff, the skateboard community, and Site Design Group. California Skateparks will again be the builders of this landmark park.

The skatepark is going to remain open as possible during the construction. Completion of the project is projected for mid July 2011.
