ETNIES  – LAKE FOREST SKATE PARK

4 years in a row! The Lake Forest Skate Park has been named O.C.’s best for the fourth consecutive year by the OC Parenting Magazine. Of course this is an outstanding recognition for California Skateparks, but an even greater recognition for the city of Lake Forrest. Vicky Blethen, the Recreation Program Manager had this to say, “This is a great recognition, It means we are in (tune) with our market that we’re looking to reach. We will not only be able to say with the expansion that we’ll have a world-class park but that it’s also a good place for parents to take their kids.”

California Skateparks will be carrying out a 13,000 sq. ft. expansion for the Lake Forest Skate Park late September and will be adding many new features to this already great skate park. For sure in the plans are a  3 1/2 foot mini bowl, a larger backyard-style pool complete with 2 death boxes and coping, and a cradle is also in the works!

Celebration Park Grand Opening

Posted on August 31st, 2010 | Read Post

Saginaw, MI is celebrating the dedication of their city’s very first skate park. The Celebration Skate Park is a 4000 square foot shotcrete project built by California Skateparks. The kids reaction to the skate park is always the best part of any opening but this grand opening was extra special. Before the Celebration Skate Park was officially dedicated the only place the kids had to skate was in the streets. Now the kids have a permanent spot they can call home and will always have a place to go and practice. The park is open to both skate and BMX so no one is getting left out of the fun!

History in the Making!

The first ever Street League Skateboarding Course is complete! Together, California Skateparks and California Ramp Works built an 8,500 sq. ft. skate plaza inside the Jobing.com Arena in only 2 days. The desert themed course is split up into 4 sections; a technical section, line section, creative section, and a big rail section. Street League’s judging format is what sets it apart from any other skateboarding contest in the world, making the course layout one of the most important parts of the contest. This brand new format gets rid of the jam session and requires the 24 pro’s to attempt 7 tricks on each of the 4 sections of the course.

There are 3 stops this year for Street League, each course will be different and have features, colors, and shapes unique to its own design. The next contest will be Sept. 11th in Ontario, CA and the last stop for the year will be held in Las Vegas, NV. A recap of the contest will be shown on ESPN Sept. 15th so be sure to tune in and check out the contest and the amazing course.
